The CK Saints grabbed an early lead into the game despite their lack of players as only five CK Saints showed up in the first ten minutes of the game.
Nonetheless that did not daunt them as Josh Kiyoshi banked 8 points for the Saints whilst teammate Richard Cruz collared 6 points on his own. The 5 man team yanked the lead away from the Sonics by 6 strong points at the end of the first quarter, 21-15.
But it wasn’t long until team Sonics got its act together with star player of the night Leo Galarse who deposited 13 points into the Sonics’ bank whilst teammate Melvin Cadiang chipped in his ten pence to not only close the gap between them and the CK Saints but also to push past them by 3 points by half time 46-43.
With the unraveling of the third quarter came new hope for team both teams. But fatigue took its toll on the 5 man Saints as they started to falter by missing shots and rebounds.
Melvin Cadiang took no time for remorse for the other team and instead pushed past their defenses repeatedly to bag 8 points working with teammate Tim Sula navigating another 6 points towards the Sonics which widened the gap from 3 points to 13 points by the time the siren rang to seal the third quarter shut, 74-61.
The fatigue driven Saints fought their way through in the last ten minutes of the game. But Luizi Reyes pushed his limits in his herculean effort to catch up to the Sonic by bagging 16 points for the Saints. With no able subs to take their place tiredness got the better part of them.
The Sonics then used this to their advantage to sweep the Saints off the court gripping on to an amazing deficit of 107-84.
