Elementary division runners take off from the starting line of the “Gecko 5000” race of the PSS-NMA All School Cross Country SY23-24 event at Banzai Cliff.
LOVEL Speath, Faith Arriola and Addalee Taflinger are headed to the girls division championships of the PSS-NMA All School Cross Country SY23-24 event.
The three runners topped the qualifying list in their respective age groups at the conclusion of the fourth and final qualifier at Airport Field on Saturday.
Brillian Star School’s LoVel Speath remains the fastest runner in the elementary girls division as she finished first once again with a time of 7:10. Coming in second was Angela You of Agape Christian School, who clocked 7:56, while Saipan International School’s Kaylen Taflinger followed behind at 7:56.
Joining the top 10 were BSS’ Clair Ferhenbacker (8:07), Mount Carmel School’s Chloe Mostales, SIS’ Olivia Walsh, MCS’ Stella Choi, BSS’ Owens Sanaya, and ACS’ Connie Zhu.
SIS continues to give the rest of the competition a hard time as Faith Arriola, Neveah Arriola, and Jamie Whang led the girls middle school division list of qualifiers. Faith finished with an impressive time of 16:16 while Neveah clocked 17:01.
Making the top 10 were Dandan Middle School’s Genicia Agulto, Hopwood Middle School’s Ericka Long, ACS’ Tina Hu, SIS’ Leilani Ruszala, DMS’ Dana Munar, DMS’ Talina McClure, and HOP’s Lyanne Barrios.
SIS also ruled the girls high school division, thanks to Addalee Taflinger who finished first with a time of 23:19.
The rest of the top 8 were ACS’ Sablina Shen (24:17), ACS’ Mary Zhu (24:51), ACS’ Jessica Chen (26:02), Saipan Southern High School’s Megan Elayda (26:46), ACS’ Joanna Zhang (28:07), ACS’ Joyce Ying (29:04), and Kagman High School’s Hong Xu (34:15).
