Sunset Scramble starts today

There will be several calendar events that will take place to give participants practice strategy before they tackle the grueling race down.  There will be a Tank to Tank Swim on Friday at 12pm. Forms can be picked up at the PIC Main Lobby.

From 2 pm to 5pm the XTERRA Registration and Packet Pick-ups are scheduled to take place at the Pacific Islands Club for all interested participants.

The XTERRA 5K and 10K Sunset Scramble Fun Runs is scheduled to kick off with the former at 5pm and the latter following an hour later. All interested participants must register at the DFS (Duty Free Shopping Center, Garapan) Currency Counter but the race organizers have now extended the deadline.

Interested participants can now register today on-site before partaking in the race. However, race organizers are not sure if a shirt will be provided to participants who will register today.

Both races will start at the American Memorial park with the awards ceremony following the event shortly thereafter.

Competitors must meet at the Pavilion at Micro Beach.  The run course takes competitors through the marina and along the beachside path.

Participants are sure to catch a famous Saipan Sunset while enduring the course.

The 5k run is recommended for family and friends while the 10k run is for the serious trail runner.  All entrants will receive a collectable T-shirt and awards for the first finisher in their respective age groups.

A portion of the proceeds benefit the MTEC (Marianas Tourism Education Council) and the Northern Marianas Athletics group.  Entry fee for the trail run is $20.
