Tabora led off a two-pointer before he worked with Edel Cariño in pulling DL Cooking away in the first quarter.
Gilbert Miranda started showing strength in the second quarter, then, picked-up where Tabora left off in the beginning of the second half firing 10 of his 25 points.
This happened when GEC’s defense tightened limiting Tabora’s score to four, and gave Ocampo the chance to lead the rally by firing 11 of his 23 points.
Cariño continued the scoring surge in the third quarter as he sank nine more points to finish with 19 points.
And with Miranda also rampaging in this period, DL Cooking Gas brought the lead back.
Tabora heated up again in the fourth quarter sizzling with nine points, and Miranda added seven more as the game went neck-to-neck.
Bernard Aquino and Ed Yalong helped GEC keep pace in the final quarter scoring eight and seven of their 12 and 13 points respectively.
With less than two minutes remaining Yalong basketed a two-pointer to take the lead.
But Tabora responded with a successful lay-up and picked up a foul for a three-point play that secured their 91-89 victory.
Lynn’s 84, Moonlight 70
From an 11-point deficit in the first quarter, Lynn’s BBQ rallied to take the lead in the second quarter the, went on to beat Moonlight, 84-70.
Noel David surged with eight points while Manolo Manalo fb basketed his two free throws to add four points in the second quarter.
With Fernandez and Reymart Castro chipping in four points apiece, Manalo helped Lynn’s stretch the lead in the third quarter.
Moreno Martin tried to keep pace with Lynn’s BBQ by sizzling with six points in the fourth quarter, but Manalo and Castro went unstoppable as they continue to rampage and pounded Moonlight with 14 points including Concepcion’s three-pointer.
