Seven-year-old Lennosuke Suzuki dominated the boys 6-8 division with the fastest time of 17 minutes and 50.03 seconds. He was trailed by eight-year-old Ichiro Borja, who finished in 18:42.75. Kadokura Akira reached the finish line in 19 minutes and 57.86 seconds to win third place.
Meanwhile, Conatsu Kaga topped three other participants to win the girls 6-8 category in 22:17.85. Ellie Epley (25:06.12) wasn’t far behind, taking second place followed by Coume Kaga (25:14.51).
In the boys 9-12 division, Logan Mister — son of local triathlete Tyce Mister — completed a slightly longer course in 30 minutes and 22.9 seconds to beat second-ranked Cole Chambers (33:32.01) and third place winner Steven Goodwin (37:51.99).
Gabrielle Race (31:41.61) stormed past Victoria (40:10.95) and Paige (41:39.63) Edwards van Muijen to dominate the girls 9-12 division.
Erico Castro, the sole competitor in the boys 13-15 category, ended the final leg in under 19 minutes for a total time of 42:33.15.
Those in the 6-8 age group had a smaller course. They biked towards the flag circle at AMP before starting the run leg towards the bell tower. Those in the 9-12 division rode towards the Army Reserve and back. Castro biked towards the Charley Dock entrance before returning to AMP.
