TANAPAG Middle School notched its first win in the girls middle school division of the PSS-NMIFA Interscholastic Soccer League SY23-24 by outhustling Chacha Ocean View Middle School, 4-2, at the NMI Soccer Training Center on Thursday.

TMS and COVMS were aiming for their first win of the season and it showed as soon as the ball dropped.

After only five minutes of back-and-forth action, COVMS’ Rica Taitano slipped through the TMS defense to find the back of the net. However, it did not take long for TMS to cook up a play of their own just four minutes later with Chelsea Santos connecting the team’s first goal to tie the score, 1-1.

Throughout the rest of the first half, both teams fought vigorously to gain the upper hand. At the 25th minute mark, TMS created a scoring  opportunity for Santos, who delivered her second goal, 2-1.

After the halftime break, COVMS’ Aryanna Ichihara scored her first goal of the day to equalize, 2-2.

But TMS’ Prescilla Ruak returned  fire to maintain the advantage, 3-2.

TMS then kept the momentum burning and eventually wore down the defenders to set up Jade Pascual, who connected at the 46th minute mark en route to their very first win of the season, 4-2.
