TEAM Gray topped the 2025 Church of Christ Unity Games after outlasting Team Green, 56–49, in the championship game held Sunday at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium.
It was a fairly even match, with both teams trading the lead throughout the first and second halves.
In the opening half, Team Green emphasized teamwork, with Espinueva and Lontoc leading the offensive charge and scoring several strong finishes at the rim. Aparte and Ross also contributed from beyond the arc, hitting a triple each.
On the other end, Team Gray was led by Nuyles, who stayed hot from start to finish and racked up several and-one plays. With the help of Armia’s all-around performance and Catubo’s ability to draw fouls, Team Gray managed to take a slight advantage by halftime.
The intensity only increased in the second half.
Espinueva and Lontoc continued to deliver for Team Green, but they struggled to keep up in the back-and-forth battle due to a lack of scoring depth.
Team Gray, meanwhile, stuck to their strategy of feeding Nuyles, who finished with 21 points. What ultimately secured their victory was the bench contribution, with Delugado and Ladra stepping up in crucial moments to combine for 14 points — enough to seal the 56–49 win.
Following the championship game, the awards ceremony recognized individual standouts:
Justine Enano – Season MVP
