(MVA) — The Marianas Visitors Authority has taken to the pitch with one of its latest promotional campaigns, capturing time and attention at the widely viewed EAFF E-1 Football Championship 2025 Final Korea Republic (hereunder EAFF E-1 Football Championship) held on July 7-16, 2025, in South Korea.
The Marianas — known as the Northern Mariana Islands in its EAFF membership — leveraged the championships’ stadium, online, and TV exposure to increase awareness of the destination to millions of fans around the world. This year’s competing EAFF men’s and women’s teams — Japan, Korea Republic (South Korea), China, Hong Kong-China, and Chinese Taipei (Taiwan) — are among the top source markets for the destination, already.
In MVA’s initiative to reach a broader audience through an international sports event, LED signs and electronic billboards at the match venue featured the beautiful seas, rich nature, and culture of The Marianas.
“We’re setting ourselves apart from other tourist destinations with our exposure via this year’s EAFF E-1 Football Championship, aimed at sparking interest in visiting The Marianas,” said MVA Managing Director Jamika R. Taijeron. “And this campaign segues perfectly with the many ongoing international tournaments that the Northern Mariana Islands Football Association attends throughout the year as an EAFF member. Now, many more football fans throughout the region and world will be able to associate our teams with the beautiful islands they come from. It’s a message and an invitation that we know that many of our Marianas athletes already share as they travel and represent our islands…they are our sports ambassadors!”
The EAFF E-1 Football Championship is an international football competition for countries and regions in East Asia, held biennially on a rotating basis among Japan, South Korea and China since the first competition held in Japan in 2003. The Northern Mariana Islands has been a full member of EAFF since 2008.
