LATTE and Matansa football clubs join Kanoa FC in a three-way tie for the top spot in the U17 boys division of the TakeCare Youth Soccer League, Spring 2024 after beating their respective opponents at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville on Saturday.

Against Kanoa FC, Latte FC went straight for the kill by quickly moving the ball and weaving through the defense, allowing Chanseo Yeom to score a goal within the very first minute of the game.

KNFC made sure not to repeat the same mistake twice as they reassessed their defensive coverage and gradually found their groove as a team. Both teams filled the next 19 minutes with several exchanges, but Latte FC controlled most of the possession and broke through once again with Zhi Xiang Lin finding the back of the net at the 20th mark for the second goal of the day.

Latte FC’s Mark Costales delivered another goal just five minutes later to extend their lead, 3-0.

In the second half, both teams tightened their defense with KNFC eventually settling for defeat, 0-3.

Other games

Matansa Football Club also emerged victorious, but without breaking a sweat as their sixth win was handed to them via forfeit by Paire Football Club.

Also earning a win was MP United Football Club whose endless pressure caused the Women’s Development Team to accidentally score in their own goal, which was the only goal of the match.
