TANAPAG Middle School and Mount Carmel School defeated their respective opponents in the girls middle school division of the PSS-NMISA Interscholastic Fastpitch Softball League SY24-25 at the Dandan Softball Field on Saturday.
TMS collected their second win of the season by outplaying Hopwood Middle School, 14-6.
HMS opened the top of the first inning with a passive-aggressive approach, barely swinging the bat but scoring five straight runs through walks to take an early lead.
In the bottom half, HMS’ pitcher also struggled to throw within the strike zone, allowing TMS to score nine consecutive runs through walks and a hit by Jonielle Pua, who was later brought home to give her team a 10-5 lead.
HMS failed to maintain momentum in the top of the second inning, managing to score only one run. Meanwhile, TMS gained confidence at the plate, notching four runs to extend their lead to 14-6.
HMS had one last chance to turn the game around in the third inning, but they were retired with two runners left on base, and had to accept defeat at the hands of TMS.

Mount Carmel School joined the winner’s circle by outhustling Chacha Ocean View Middle School, 16-10.
