Tsuchida, McDonald rules President’s Day Walkathon

Clocked in with a time of twenty – one minutes and two seconds, Mr. Koji Tsuchida, a 26 year old Japanese JICA volunteer who works as a science teacher at Palau High School clearly dominated the early morning 5 kilometer run. Running his trail was Sofe Sofe who crossed the line with a time of 21:57 then followed by Mike Fedison who came in at a time of 22:07 which completes the top three finishers of the men’s division.

As for the elite three of the women’s category, Laura McDonald finished with the fastest time of twenty-four minutes and twenty-seven seconds to lead the pack. Trailing her was Monique Oczon who clocked in at 27:58 to nail second place while Elizabeth DeJong’s 29:39 garnered her third place.   The 2009 President’s Day Walk and Run was made possible through the unending help of KR – FM radio station, Civic Action Team, OMUB movement, and All ministries who solidly worked on the preparations and arrangements of the annual event.
