THE IT&E-United Filipino Organization Basketball League is back at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium.
UFO Vice President Jose Espino, who chairs the organization’s basketball committee, said they had been holding the annual tournament for 17 years, but it was canceled in 2022 due to the Covid-19 pandemic restrictions.
UFO last held a sports event in 2021, he said.
“Finally, after four years, UFO is able to bring back the basketball league, which aims to promote health and camaraderie among the members of the organization and the local community as well,” Espino said.
On behalf of the islands’ largest Filipino organization, Espino expressed his sincere gratitude to IT&E for sponsoring the league and Best Deal for sponsoring the tournament’s Best Player Award.
IT&E Customer Operations, Marketing, Network Operations Center Executive Director Rob Harrell tossed the ball during the league’s ceremonial opening on Sunday.
