In the battle for third place, Underground outlasted Velleza, 100-97.

Underground came in hot with a series of three-pointers delivered by Joey Mostales, Michael Lontoc, and Jomari Dela Cruz. At the other end, Velleza’s Alken Ege and Ramil Tibayan scored three triples of their own.

However, as time progressed, Underground played more consistently, thanks to Dela Cruz and Paul Manansala who scored 24 and 9 points, respectively, to gain a comfortable lead by halftime, 60-49.

Velleza, however, staged a rally in the second half.

Elmer Esdrelon, who had been quiet, suddenly went on the offensive with 10 straight points while teammates Ege and Totong Caraig, Velleza delivered buckets to reduce Underground’s lead.

But it was not enough as Underground used the clock and  free-throw opportunities to their advantage to remain afloat until the very end, 100-97.

Fifth place was claimed by HBR, which outplayed Savory Bistro Cafe, 114-100, while Solid Lakay secured seventh place after powering past Sakalam, 119-69.
