Western Union basketball squad was very upbeat at the start of the first quarter as they played furiously on both ends of the court. They use up their offensive power focusing on team work notably on series of plays that led to back to back baskets midway to third canto. Super stars, Bong Alambra and Jun Bautista led the charge for the Western Union while getting a big boost from their stellar guards, Clemenia and Teczon to extend the series to game three. In spite of another spectacular game from big man Jay Naguit of the Rangers, other key players were not just effective on the break to finally succumb to their challenger.
Surangel was able to hold on to 1 point advantage at the buzzer to move to game three next Sunday against J Trading – Jaguars. Tall player Reyes of Surangel, sank 1 out of 2 awarded free throws to put up a one point advantage with 1.5 seconds remaining on regulation and have Jaguar bench call a timeout. With a design play for their shooter, Jerome Ratunil and Hener Aguinaldo, Surangel was able to read the play resulting to delay shooters from getting to a position that left Jerome throwing an off balance shot that hit only the front of the rim.
