Mihter Wendolin of Phonpei at age 23, represented Pohnpei winning gold; she jumped approximately 4.55 meters along with Guam representative Noreen Ericsson who took bronze home with a record jump of 4.46 meters.
In the Women’s Shot Put contest, Jenequa Sullivan Benavente brings bronze home to the NMI throwing at a 9.55 meter distance while Chandis Cooper took gold home to Palau throwing at a 10.31 meter distance. Meanwhile, silver was brought home by Genie Gerardo of Guam throwing at a 9.68 meter distance.
In the Men’s 100 meter sprint, Tyron Taro Omar took bronze home to the NMI dashing at a record time of 11.33 seconds. While Chuuk’s John Howard bring the gold home by achieving a great time of 11.22 seconds. Silver was taken by Roman Cress of the Marshall Islands clocking in at 11.27 seconds.
