That certainty came after Natibu rekindled in the graveyard battle by defeating Kulan Zamu, 14-8.
Henry Iguel Jr., made it to the first base in the bottom of the first inning when Kulan Zamu third baseman, Kyle Kaipat dropped the ball, then, JR Suel’s single moved him to scoring position.
Natibu launched the rally as Victor Salas fired a run-scoring single and Ray Bosil drove-in a run on a fielder’s choice.
Bruce Norita hit a two-run single, Jess Taitano knocked in a run and Bobbie Norita sent him home with a sacrifice bat to complete a nine-run first inning.
Second baseman, Bosil stranded Kulan Zamu base runners in the top of the first inning and pitcher Ned Norita struck out one to help keep thje bases empty in the second inning.
Kulan Zamu’s outfielder, Juan Iguel drove in two runs on a fielder’s choice in an attempt to cut down the lead but Natibu left fielder Henry Iguel Jr., stopped it by capturing Julian Camacho’s fly ball.
Suel and Bosil forced two more runs on fielder’s choice in the fourth inning and Ned Norita connected a run-scoring single in the sixth inning.
In the championship game, both Natibu and the Xterminators held their ground in the earlier innings. Natibu held Xterminators scoreless in four innings, while Xteminators pitcher, Mel Sakisat gave up only one base hit to keep Natibu scoreless in the second, third and fourth innings.
The Xterminators mounted the winning rally in the fifth inning with Roy Celis and JJ Laniyo knocking in a run-scoring double.
Oliver Secharmindal also fired a two-run double capping the seven-run fifth inning.
Mel Sakisat fired a two-run triple and Jerry Ayuyu drove in two runs with a double as the Xterminators continued the rampage in the seventh inning to secure their 18-3 victory.
The Kulan Zamu sluggers assured themselves of third place after beating Saipal, 10-7.
Juan Iguel loaded the bases with a single in the bottom of the second inning then, Tyrone Omar blasted a three-run triple to set a wide gap against Saipal.
Gloyd Martin slicing a two-run double and JD Dikito hitting another run-scoring double leading Saipal’s rally in the third inning in an attempt to come from behind.
Dikito drove in one more run with a single in the fourth inning but Julian Camacho retaliated with two-run single.
As KQD prepares for next month’s third round, Natibu and the Xterminators who topped the first leg last June, are waiting for the next team to join them in the championship slot.
Meanwhile, Saipal and Sakau have joined Kulan Zamu and the Jets (now Pac Chain) in the wild card list for the single elimination round on Oct. 3.
