Great turnout
Marianas Visitors Authority Community Projects Manager Martin Duenas, the chairman of the tournament committee, said they had a great turnout with around 100 players.
“We got really good weather,” he said. “It rained a little around 12 o’clock, but thanks to the very nice weather, we were able to complete the event.”
Duenas added, “We want to thank the sponsors. I know times are hard, especially for cash sponsorship, so we really appreciate their help. This is going toward a good cause which is to educate our youth early on the importance of tourism, which is basically everyone’s business.”
Proceeds of the tournament will help fund the education work of Marianas Tourism Education Council, a non-profit which focuses on community outreach, and school tourism MY WAVE (Marianas Youth Welcome All Visitors Enthusiastically) Clubs.
