Young Zapanta tops April King of the Lanes roll-off

The younger Zapanta who had just graduated from Saipan Bowling Association’s youth division dominating the 2009 Prince/Princess of the Lanes, topped last Sunday’s roll-off for the April King & Queen of the Lanes at the Capital Bowling Center.

He defeated Nick Gutierrez with a big margin to win the first place in last week’s SBA month tournament.

Zapanta who started strong in Game 1 where he tallied 256 pin falls knocked down a total of 837 pins. Gutierrez had 770 pin falls to place second.

Settling for third and fourth respectively were Ruselle Zapanta with 755 pin falls and Paul Pangelinan with 754 pin falls.

In the Queen of the Lanes competition, Gigi Zapanta knocked down 669 pin falls to win the monthly crown. She also ruled Game 1eking out 186 pin falls and Game 3 with 182 pin falls.

Lala Taitano tallied a total of 655 pin falls for the second place and Cora Muna settled for third with 651 pin falls.

Also making it to top five were Carol McKenzie, 638 pin falls and Ron Cal, 633 pin falls.
