Unfortunately, according to Zapanta’s father Ross who is also the secretary general of the Saipan Bowling Association, it had been several months now that SBA was not able to submit any nomination for the monthly athletes of the month.
Because of the conflicts in schedules, none of the SBA officials could attend the NMASA regular meeting, but Mr. Zapanta swore they had been preparing bowlers young an adult to be nominated.
He recalled that it has been many years ago when bowlers group members was nominated. They were Robert Talavera and Mark Halstead.
This month, Mr. Zapanta said also he is not sure if they can send somebody to the regular meeting, they will nominate an adult and student athlete for the month of July.
Raphael and some of young SBA bowlers, he believes are rife enough to be nominated.
The younger Zapanta won his seventh Fiji Water Prince/Princes of the Lanes last Sunday.
Mr. Zapanta said they will also nominated Raymond Angeles for male athletes after having completed 300 games recently.
