MARIANAS High School 1 is the top team in bracket 2 of the high school division of the TakeCare-PSS Interscholastic Badminton League with a total of 23 points after the conclusion of the opening-week games on Saturday at the Ada gym.
MHS 1 won nearly all of its matches against Kagman High School and Grace Christian Academy 1.
MHS 1 roster consists of Terresa Ahn, Shemariah Hicaro, Angela Maratas, Prapti Mondal, Abigael Robles, Sernantie Jimenez, Brian Lubao, Ian Lubao, Daniell Pablo, and Kyle Salcedo,
They bagged the girls singles and doubles event within two sets along with the boys doubles and mixed doubles.
KHS, however, managed to win one set in the boys singles before settling for defeat against MHS 1 which garnered a total of 14 points.
Against GCA 1, MHS 1 gathered a total of nine points by sweeping the boys singles and doubles and girls doubles.
GCA 1, however, notched a two-set win in the girls singles.
In second place is Agape Christian School with 22 points.
ACS’ Serena Chen, Eunce Xu, Elim Huang, Caleb Cui, John Chen, Stanley Zhang and Aaron Zheng played exceptionally well, defeating Saipan International School 2 in the boys and girls singles and doubles events.
But SIS 1 won the boys and mixed doubles matches.
In third place is SSHS 1 with 14 points followed by GCA 1 with 13 points, SIS 2 with five points and KHS with four points.
