THE energy of the NMI U18 youngsters were too much to handle for Old B Bank which lost 0-7 during the debut of the Men’s Soccer League Summer 2021 tournament at the NMI Soccer Training Center on July 25.
After three minutes of continuous pressure, NMI U18’s Taka Borja found the back of the net to give his team the lead.
Three more NMI U18 goals followed during the first half. Kaden Church stole the spotlight with two straight goals at the 17th and 30th minute marks while Kohtaro Goto squeezed in the fourth in the 39th minute to keep Old B Bank under NMI U18’s thumb, 4-0.
In the second half, NMI U18 lit up the scoreboard with three more goals.
Goto picked up where he left off in the frontline of the assault, slicing his way through at the 61st and 73rd minute marks to complete the hat-trick.
Team-mate Kaden Church then clinched his third goal in the 89th minute to end Old B Bank’s misery, 7-0.
Paire vs Kanoa
Paire Football Club had a rough start but turned the tables in the second half to defeat the Kanoa Football Club.
After a back-and-forth battle for nearly the entire first half, Kanoa broke the silence with a goal delivered by Ruselle Zapanta in the 36th minute.
Paire’s JC replied with a goal four minutes later, but Kanoa’s Andruw Omelau scored in the 42nd minute to regain the lead for his team, 2-1.
However, that was the end of Kanoa’s show as they were nowhere to be seen in the second half when Paire’s team-work suddenly exploded.
Paire’s Mareko started the run in the 70th minute followed by Jireh Yobech in the 74th. Mareko keep the pressure by scoring another goal at the 82nd minute mark while Danny Agulto squeezed in two more to put the game out of reach, 6-2.
