NO Excuse are off to a strong start in the 2023 Budweiser Belau Amateur Softball Association Open League after bagging their debut win against Payday Hao, 14-7, on Sunday at the Dandan baseball field.

No Excuse established control in the second inning as they showcased their power behind the swing. Kimo Angailen and Audie Maratita ignited their team’s scoring spree with solo homeruns. Marvin Kaipat then made the highlight reel as he connected a three-run homer, bringing in Jerome Delos Santos and JD Magofna to give their team the lead, 5-0.

After Payday Hao answered with one run, No Excuse continued to stretch the gap with  homeruns by Henry Lizama Jr.  and Byron Kaipat, followed by Jerome Delos Santos’ two-run homer for a commanding 9-1 lead.

Payday Hao tried to build momentum in the fourth and fifth innings with two runs but No Excuse continued to power through with five runs in the seventh and final inning to secure the win, 14-7.

Other games

Joining the winner’s circle were Mamaaw which defeated Dat’s It in five innings, 17-5; the Blue Jays, which triumphed over Ready Mix, 8-2; and Just4Fun, which eased past Tuturamz in five innings, 13-1.
