(Press Release) — The Saipan Marianas Lions Club held yet another successful event, the 3rd Annual 5K Walkathon, a Diabetes Awareness & Prevention Fundraiser.
Over 400 registered for the May 2, 2021 walkathon that commenced with a 30-minute Zumba warm up.
The course started from the Carolinian Utt and proceeded to Monika’s Gallery on Beach Road then back.
The walkathon kicked off at 6 a.m. and was done before 8 a.m.

The Saipan Marianas Lions Club would also like to extend its appreciation to all the members and their spouses who gave all their support and assistance to ensure a huge turnout for the event.
Proceeds for this fundraising activity will go to the Lions Club’s global causes which are diabetes, hunger, childhood cancer, environment and vision. The club is also including assistance to youth.
The club’s recipients are 1) CHCC Dialysis Center (Diabetes), 2) Karidat (Hunger), 3) Commonwealth Cancer Association (Childhood Cancer) & 4) the Tan Holdings Football Club (Youth).
