Sablan had an excellent start, completing the front nine with a gross of 77. Aided by a handicap of 13, his net score was 64.
Fred Salavaria also had a gross of 77; but with a handicap of 10, his net score was 67.
Both golfers struggled a bit more during the back nine. Sablan closed all nine holes with a gross of 86 and a net score of 73 while Salavaria tried to rally his way to the top with a gross of 80 and a net score of 70.

Both ended with a total net score of 137 which meant that the scorecard playoff would decide who would be the December Ace.
At hole #17, both players scored 1-over par but at hole #4, Sablan scored a 1-over par compared to Salavaria’s 2-over par.
With his victory, Sablan will join the other aces of the month in the Amigos Ace of Aces Tournament.
Thirty-six players participated in the Nov. 8 tournament with Sherlyn Jones, Ned Norita and Bill Quitano ending in a three-way tie for third place with a net total of 138.
As for those who received the Closest to the Pin Award, they were Sherlyn Jones for hole #6; Bill Quitano, hole #8; Syl Ada, hole #12; and Ben Duenas, hole #15. Each player received a cash prize of $160.
The Amigos Golf Club’s Ace of Aces and non-Ace tournaments are set for Nov. 28 and 29 at LaoLao Bay Golf & Resort with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
