RON Benavente bagged the Marianas Golf Association’s May Ace of the Month title on Sunday at the Laolao Bay Golf & Resort west course.
Benavente did not have the best performance of the day but still dropped enough pars to finish first.
On the front nine, he recorded three pars and obtained the same result on the back nine despite making bogeys to end with a gross score of 95. With a 24 handicap, he finished 1-under par, resulting in a net score of 71 and securing first place.
In second place was Joe Camacho who cleared the 18 holes with finesse. He closed the front nine with a bogey and a birdie. On the back nine, however, he made a double bogey on the 18th hole to end 1-over with a gross score of 73. With a handicap of 1, his net score was 72. He secured second place by edging Bill Camacho in a scorecard playoff.
Camacho, who finished third, completed the course with a gross of 96. Aided by a handicap of 24, his net score was 72.
