THE Ideal Signs Just Chillin Rustlers remain one of the top teams in the Tuesday Division of the SBA Budweiser Open 8-Ball League, thanks to the teamwork of Rowel “Cobra” Mariano and Mei Rengiil, who snagged the match-winning game against the 9 Eleven Rebels, 7-6, at Just Chillin Bar.
Ideal Signs Just Chillin Rustlers’ Jerry Tiu lines up a shot during a Tuesday Division game of the SBA Budweiser Open 8-Ball League at the 9 Eleven Restobar.
Mei Rengiil and Albert Pangilinan handed the Rustlers the early advantage as they shined in the Singles 8-Ball match with a 2-1 run. The Rebels’ Phil Kalen claimed the third game.
The Rustlers’ Jerry Tiu and Joey Lucido then notched the Partners 8-Ball match while Chester Hamoy and Mariano kept the streak going with a 2-1 run in the second singles match for a 5-2 lead.
But the Rebels were not to be counted out just yet.
Rey Hermogenes and Kalen paired up to stop the bleeding as they triumphed in the second Partners 8-Ball match which also acted as a sparkplug for Rey Matsunaga who joined Hermogenes and Kalen in the third singles match to score a 3-win sweep and take the lead for the first time, 6-5.
But the Rustlers soon hustled their way back to the driver’s seat with Tiu and Hamoy clinching the third partners match to tie the score while Rengiil and Mariano followed through to bag the win, 7-6.
