SHANA Barman earned her second gold medal in the 100m race of the second leg of the Triple Crown Open Water Swim Series on Saturday at the Civic Center beach.
Although the water was rough, that did not stop Barman from improving her performance as she clocked 20 seconds earlier than her time in the first event. Her finish time on Saturday was 2:16.89.
Coming in second was Pharshika Pandey at 2:44.20 followed by Corrie Zhai (3:06.92), Sofia Cariaso (3:28.82) and Amara Acosta (3:33.98).
In the male division, Alonzo Acosta stole the show as he recorded a time of 2:18.18 to clinch the top spot and beat the previous winner, Yutaro Kitagawa, who finished second with a time of 2:25.02.
Third and fourth were Carl Licop (2:50.96) and Pedro Taitano (3:07.43) while Gabriel Walsh was fifth (3:17.50) and Gabriel Carriaso sixth (3:34.52).
In the 50m event, Vivian Chung and Simon Shindo held the top spots.
Chung dominated with a finish time of 1:11.65 to beat Eva Shin (1:33.18), Gwen Retardo (1:34.27), Aileen Kim (1:40.76) and Olivia Walsh (1:51.43).
In the men’s division Shindo clocked 1:18.67 to claim first place.
Finishing second to fifth places were Wigan Puguon (1:31.90), Seungwoo Lee (1:35.40), Antonio Heras (1:46.90) and Matua Puguon (1:55.65).
In the 20m event, Andrea Ryu and Leo Li bagged their second gold medals.
Andrea Ryu topped the female division with a time of 1:20.32 while Daria Shatskova (1:23.00) settled for second, Fiona Yu (1:33.79) was third, Hannah Sablan (2:00.63) fourth and Lucy Shin (2:07.86) fifth.
For his part, Leo Li topped the male division with a finish time of 1:17.41 followed by Shuro Barman (1:43.16), Tony Wang (2:07.55), Shane Mabutas (2:18.00) and Daniel Huang (2:20.63).
