SHIRLEY’S Football Club bested the Tan Holdings Football Club, 7-5, in the U14 girls division of the TakeCare Youth Soccer League on Saturday at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville.

Tan Holdings drew first blood as they broke through led by Xyriel Pascual who scored a goal within the first two minutes of the game.

However, the tide quickly turned as Shirley’s suddenly went on the offensive with four consecutive goals courtesy of Alyssa Borlongan to take over by halftime, 4-1.

Shirley’s then picked up where they left off in the second half with Borlongan adding another goal in the first few minutes followed by two more goals by Cassidee Flores.

In the end, however, time was not on Tan Holdings’ side, and they had to accept defeat, 5-7.

But before the first half ended, Paire managed to break the silence with Justidy Mizutani slipping a shot at the 10th minute mark.

Although the tempo slowed down in the second half, Paire failed to equalize while Kanoa kept the momentum burning led by Gross who delivered two more goals to end the game with a hat-trick, 5-1.
