SAIPAN International School’s varsity team remains at the top of the food chain in the boys middle school division of the NMIVA-PSS Interscholastic Volleyball League after bagging their fourth win by beating Grace Christian Academy on Tuesday at the Marianas High School gym.
SIS played to their strength in the first set of the game with Daniel Joab, Theo Joab, Nason Wessel, Aiden Camacho, Moshe Sikkel, Landon Pudney and Allan Cabrera showcasing their chemistry by covering their ground well and applying pressure with great setups and powerful overhead serves.
GCA tried to fight back, but SIS played better and smarter to notch the first set, 21-15.
After a break, GCA returned to the court with more determination and better teamwork, this time winning 21-15, to force a third and final set.
But SIS had learned its lesson and launched a fierce offensive en route to a convincing victory, 15-7.
Winners, too
Joining the winner’s circle were Dandan Middle School which secured its fourth win by besting Tanapag Middle School, 21-16, 21-10; Agape Christian School which defeated Chacha Oceanview Middle School, 21-16, 21-13; Hopwood Middle School which outplayed Mount Carmel School, 21-9, 21-16; and Saipan Community School JV which trounced SIS JV, 21-15, 21-9.
