Soriano, Guerra, Matsunaga, Pangilinan earn spots in pool finals

JERRY Soriano, Jesse Guerra, Ray Matsunaga and Albert Pangilinan have locked in their spots in the finals of the New Bamboo Bar February 8-Ball Tournament.

Soriano is the most recent finalist,  fighting through Tuesday’s games with a 6-1 record.

Soriano started strong as he moved past the first three rounds with ease, sending Matsunaga, Danny and Lito Pangilinan to the losers bracket before reaching the semifinals.

However, Randy Sablan bested him in a nail-biter, sending Soriano down to the pits.

Soriano quickly rose to the top,  defeating Senen Pangilinan to force a rematch with Sablan in the finals.

Sablan tried to hold his ground but  he could not withstand Soriano’s onslaught.

Soriano and Sablan then had to battle for the third and last time.

Soriano’s momentum was still hot as he shut down Sablan to snatch victory and earn a ticket to  the finals.

Joining Soriano is Jesse Guerra who, on Monday, eliminated every player in his path for a 4-0 record.

On Thursday, Feb. 18, it was Ray was Matsunaga who emerged victorious while Albert Pangilinan triumphed on Tuesday, Feb. 16.

The battle for the championship  will be held this Sunday, starting at 6 p.m. at Saipan Vegas’s New Bamboo Bar.
