6JMS Vicious remains the number one team in the Ladies Division of the SEDA Bud Light Dart League after edging the Oleai Tracy’s Smokerz, 8-7, Monday at 6JMS Sports Bar.
The teams seemed equally matched as Vicious’ Frances Magofna and Mary-Lois Blaluk earned a win each while Smokerz’s Nish Wabol and Patricia Laniyo snagged the remaining two rounds of the opening 301 Double In/Double Out game.
However, teamwork was the deciding factor of the night as Vicious stepped up their game in the Partners Crazy Cricket match. Jamie Hayes, paired with Magofna, led the assault with a 3.64 PPD while Blaluk and Virginia “Gin” Cruz followed through to bag a two-win sweep to seize the lead, 4-2.
The Smokerz had to play catch up but they failed to wear down Vicious’s offensive momentum. The teams split the next three matches, allowing Vicious to secure an early victory. But the Smokerz fought till the end and snagged the final Team 1101 game before accepting defeat, 7-8.
In other matches
Last Shot Darty Secret outplayed the Rendezvous Rookies, 9-6.
Darty Secret established control early as Melissa Somorang, Neigh Helgens and Rena Reftang pulled a 3-1 run in the opening singles game.
The Rookies tried to stay within reach with a split in the following partners game but could not maintain their productivity as Darty Secret scored a two-win sweep in the Partners 501 Double In/Double Out game to extend their lead, 6-2.
Although the Rookies notched a 3-1 win in the Singles Regular Cricket game, they were swept once again in the third partners game. They claimed the final Team 1101 match, but it wasn’t enough to prevent a 9-6 Darty Secret victory.
Also triumphant were the Jonny’s Darty Queens who nearly silenced 9 Eleven Chickazz Bull-It, 14-1.
