WILLIAM S. Reyes Elementary School 1 dominated Saipan International School 1, 34-4, in an elementary school division game of the IT&E Interscholastic Basketball League on Saturday at MHS gym.
WSR took advantage of their skill and teamwork and quickly found their chemistry in the opening half. Landin Reyes and Ezekiel Camacho acted as sparkplugs as they fired two buckets each while team mate Joshua Lizama took over the last five minutes of the game with eight points to give WSR a two-digit lead.
Their defense was also as effective as their offense as they blanked SIS, 22-0, by halftime.
With a commanding lead, WSR gave the bench a chance to score in the second half. Javian Sablan delivered back-to-back buckets while Joaquin Delos Santos added two points to further extend their team’s lead.
SIS’ Cooper Koning and Windsor Gross finally broke the silence by scoring two points each before WSR’s Camacho, Aubuyguel Castro and Reyes clinched a blowout victory for their team, 34-4.
