Carol Wong Chan, who manages the restaurant with her family said keeping the business alive has been a big challenge especially with the hard economic times, but they will still continue to serve the community with the sumptuous cuisine they have been known for almost three decades.
Lunch buffet and dinner
Diners at the Canton Restaurant can partake of the wide selection of sumptuous lunch buffet every day which also includes soup, salads with different kinds of dressing, fresh fruit, unlimited ice cream and assorted soda drinks.
“We vary our menu daily so our diners will always have a reason to come back every day,” Chan said.
The lunch buffet is $8 per individual, 50 percent discount for kids 3-7 years old, and free for kids under three years old.
If you don’t have time to sit down for lunch, Canton Restaurant also caters to people who are on the go with their take out lunch from the buffet section. Diners can pick one choice with rice for $3.50, two choices with rice for $4.50 and three choices with rice for $5.50.
For its dinner menu, Canton Restaurant offers a variety of choice dinner meals for $6 including sweet and sour pork, shrimp and pork chop, beef broccoli, Chinese chop suey, fish fillet with vegetable, deep fried shrimp, tofu mixed vegetable, chicken curry, pancit canton and the famous Canton fried rice. All meal orders come with a serving of rice, soup and soda.
Canton Restaurant also serves a delectable seafood dinner with a different variety of choices including lobster, crabs, oysters, mussels, scallops, clam, fresh shrimps, parrot fish, and more.
“Just pick out what you want to eat, and we will cook it the way you want,” Chan said.
“Our special dinner set is reasonably priced for family gatherings and small parties,” she added.
Anniversary promo
As a special feature on their 27th anniversary, Chan said that frequent diners will get a VIP Card which entitles a card holder to 10 percent discount on all food orders at the restaurant for a whole year.
Chan said the last time they gave out VIP discount cards was 10 years ago.
“We want to show our appreciation to our diners for the support we get from them and we want to be with them for another year,” she said.

Chan said that they are forever grateful to the steady stream of customers who had been patronizing Canton Restaurant since it opened in August 1984.
“We will continue to serve the community with the 3G principle — which stands for good food, good service and good price,” Chan said.
Canton Restaurant, located across from the Mobil/McDonalds on Beach road in Garapan can accommodate up to 200 persons. They cater to weddings, birthdays, and all occasions. The restaurant is open for lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and dinner from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. every day.
