Ambrose M. Bennett
THE Truth is Ambrose has been promoting Change & Progress for over two decades, yet my critics want readers to think I’m promoting chaos, as “Protesting is not Chaos, its Progress FOR the People.” I’m just thankful my Op eds reach thousands and so darn glad my critics are hiding in the Comment Section that only a few see. Too often those who are promoting change or improvements are “attacked, scorned and some have even been killed” like Dr. King all because they wanted BETTER FOR the People! I’m also calling for Chamorros/Carolinians to do MORE in mastering & controlling their own fate by letting the officials they elected KNOW what their Bosses want – what’s so bad about that, go figure. However, BIGOT critics want to “trash my name & SCARE People” by implying chaos, like I wrote in my previous Op ed about how FEAR is a “key tactic” used to prevent change & progress in the CNMI, as when is the House going to “check the Governor’s Overreach and Protect our Purse & Serving Us with Oversights”! You can BET no official nor citizen can say One-thing WE were guaranteed for 22 yrs. of OUR taxes – PATHETIC!
Dr. King and others have proven Nonviolent Protests are only chaotic for those who don’t want to change or fix the problem but in reality, these protests represent the “Tip-of-the-Spear for Change & Improvements”. FYI, the founders of America even CALLED for protest in the Federalist Papers to keep the Government Honest & On-point FOR the People, the Bosses, so do readers really want to follow the advice of Bigots in the Comment Section or the Founders of America. I keep saying that “if WE want the CNMI to be more like mainland America with continuous growth and a better quality of life then WE the People must ACT like the People on the mainland who PROTESTS to undo wrongs & to promote progress. Our destituted state DEMANDS that WE push for “a Progressive Movement for Change” like the Women’s Suffrage Movement, the Civil Rights Movement and other Movements that have transformed America for the BETTER! Why should the real Bosses be AFRAID to tell the workers (elected officials) what they want done is the question every voting citizen needs to answer with – this is MY Island and what I want DONE in protest! There is No-Way that Arnold should NOT be held accountable for “not having a real Economic Recovery Plan,” especially this far along in his tenure when it should be so darn obvious to all WE needed this plan two years ago. WE must learn to protests, as not even our elected leaders have complained about Arnold’s Economic Plan Failure, as a failure to plan is a plan for FAILURE, which is what WE are now experiencing in “live & living color” – a FAILED Economy for TRUE! However, failing to protest sends loud & clear signals that “WE don’t care and are even OK with suffering”.
As for the “overreach claims & No vote to dissolve the Casino Commission (CC)” I do agree and I’m glad to see the Senate is trying to keep the Governor in Check. However, saying NO and not offering a genuine solution to the issue is insufficient when you look at the bigger picture of gaming in the CNMI. I know Ambrose said it first that “WE (the CNMI) need only One Elected Gaming Commission” which is the TRUTH and clearly stands on merits, especially when you compare the BEST example of statewide gaming (Nevada) in America to the CNMI’s three different CCs which defies logic & common sense. But bigotry has been in the way of progress to end this “Overkill by Republicans with three Commissions” to put all of OUR Gaming under one Gaming-Umbrella. The three Commissions are just Republican Power-Base Expansion tactic with paid Republican Emissaries on the three populated islands. All the CCs have proven they can’t do the job right at one time or another and WE are still fooling around with NO Changes to the CCs! To allow the CCs to remain as is just PROVES that WE the People are only getting the Same-O Same-O instead of real Change & Progress which should be the “Daily Special” given our destituted state of depending on Federal Hand-outs & Loans instead of executing a real plan. WE can elect anyone to say No, as it takes work to fix it.
If its overreach then will the Senate “fix ALL the problems WE have experienced with ALL of the CCs” that have continued to occur ever since they were created even making the People pay commissioners when there was No Casino. WE can elect anyone to say “no” o and let the problem linger solely because Ambrose spotted the fatal flaw first years ago but no one listened. So will this take another decade or more to like the MPLT & NMD’s issue to sink in that Ambrose was right about because it’s really about doing the Right-Thing FOR the People and simply giving credit where credit is due – it’s called being a Professional with an Objective Mindset of Leadership to improve the CNMI. Like Dr. King said in so many words that issues/ideas should stand on their merits, as the color of one’s skin or race shouldn’t matter where a good idea originated, as bigotry to avoid Ambrose’s input and even the ideas of other nonlocals is the real problem and a major reason WHY Prosperity continues to be so elusive in an “Inequality CNMI”!
One People, One Direction.
