THE UMDA Aces behind the superb pitching of Elmer “Radical” Sablan which gave up just four hits in going the distance won their fourth game of the season blanking the Kautz Glass Glazers, 9-0, last Friday in the Saipan Major League Baseball.
It was a quiet first three innings as the scoreboard remained vacant before the Aces then occupy it with two runs in the bottom of the fourth inning when John M. Reyes led off with a single and scored on Mark Toves’ triple. Toves then plated on Ben Hocog’s fielder’s choice for a, 2-0, Aces lead. Ed Kapileo’s RBI double in the bottom of the sixth inning made it, 3-0.
The Aces then ran away for good in the bottom of the seventh erupting for six unearned runs led by Anthony Pangelinan’s two-run single for a, 9-0, lead. Speedy Mark Toves utilizes his speed to perfection accounting for one third of lead.
