AS a parent, please allow me to take this opportunity to congratulate one of our local teachers, Ms. Vicky Eusebio for having recently been picked to grace the pages of the “Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers 2002 Edition.” I strongly believe that such a rare honor deserves the general public’s attention and appreciation. Vicky is a dedicated teacher of nearly three decades and as such, the least we can do is acknowledge her undying dedication and commitment to her lifelong profession or give her a simple pat on the back.
As with many of you, I too am well informed of the many pressing issues facing our islands and as a result, sometimes, if not often, we tend to forget or ignore some of the finer things happening here on our own domestic front. Nevertheless, seldom does a local person receive an honor like the one extended to Ms. Eusebio. For this reason, I believe that we should all band together as parents, teachers, members of the community, or just proud citizens of the commonwealth in congratulating Vicky for this fine accomplishment.
Let us momentarily set aside the many pressing issues that are presently bewildering our minds (asylum seekers, salary cap inequities, the budget, robberies and burglaries, sham marriages, the minimum wage, DPS’s no OT policy, Rep. Stanley T. Torres’s continuous findings, J.Q. vs. A.P. on how to properly manage the Division of Labor, the tourism industry, ACT vs. A.B. vs. ACT vs. BOE and so on) and instead, join Ms. Victoria Borja Eusebio during her hour of glory. In short, let us think of the positive things happening here on our tiny island and as much as possible try to cherish them.
I am not a public official nor am I a member of the State Board of Education. I am just a proud and optimistic parent expressing my heartfelt congratulations and appreciation to one of the CNMI’s finest daughters—Victoria Borja Eusebio.
