MY name is Renato Sanchez Reyes, a parent of a child with disability.
I was depressed when I read in the newspaper that Mr. Thomas Camacho was terminated by some of the Disabilities Council members.
I am here to extend my full support to Mr. Camacho. As a parent of child with disability, I am very thankful to him for he has given me the opportunity to be an advocate for my child and other people with disability through the training workshops and personal knowledge on the right of the child disability. He also gave me a chance to apply for Council membership.
Through his leadership, as executive director of the Council, a lot of parents became aware about issues regarding disabilities. Parents like me need a leader like Mr. Camacho to continue the mission of helping people with disabilities to become a part of the community we belong.
Even though I’m an alien worker, Mr. Camacho helped me without hesitation to become knowledgable and to share this knowledge to other workers who have children with disabilities.RENATO S. REYES
