MEMORIAL Day is just around the corner and for many of us regardless whether active, retired, non-retired, with the Reserve or National Guard, serving or who had served in any branch of the military, we have been, now, and always, should stand proud as one. For we have all stood solid on our principle belief for freedom and justice to all. In this upcoming Memorial Day as we have done for many years, we must not falter nor forget our fallen comrades in arms who have given their ultimate and supreme sacrifice so that freedom can be preserved for all mankind.
Here in the CNMI, although there are few veterans residing compared to other regions of the U.S. and it’s territories, we still maintain the “light of honor and respect” to ourselves as military veterans and especially to our fallen comrades in arms. And so, I am suggesting and encouraging all CNMI veterans to join hands prior to this upcoming Memorial Day of May 27, and help our director of Military and Veterans Affairs to arrange a successful event for all veterans.
If there are or have been any misunderstanding in the past as to our chapter affiliations or membership, please put all this aside and remember one thing:You are a special breed of men/women. You have served in the proudest, most efficient military force in the world, highly trained, highly disciplined, and highly skilled just like our fallen comrades. And I’m quite sure that if they were alive today, they would not, for one second, hesitate to join hands with the rest of us, in accomplishing what it takes to honor those others who have surrendered their precious life for the sake of others. Thank you very much.JACK T. QUITUGUA
