Speaker Villagomez endorses Corina Magofna

SPEAKER Edmund S. Villagomez on Thursday endorsed the candidacy of Democrat Corina L. Magofna in the House Precinct 3 special election that will be held on Oct. 16.

“Change won’t happen overnight, and what I’ve seen is what strong Democratic women bring to the table,” said Villagomez, a Precinct 3 independent allied with Democrats.

“Women are the backbone of our societies and Corina has all the qualities for the type of leadership that is required. I look forward to what we can accomplish in Precinct 3. Please vote for Corina L. Magofna this Oct. 16, 2021,” Villagomez added.

Magofna, who was recently endorsed by the Refaluwasch for Good Governance, thanked the speaker for his support.

“To House Speaker Edmund Villagomez, Un Dangkulu Na Si Yu’us Ma’ase for your public endorsement and support of my candidacy. I am hopeful and optimistic that our Precinct 3 voters will consider voting for me in the upcoming special election. It would certainly be an honor to have the opportunity to work with our speaker and the rest of the legislative leaders,” Magofna said.

She is running against the Republican Party’s Grace “Pitu” Sablan Vaiagae.

The Precinct 3 House seat became vacant after Republican Rep. Ivan A. Blanco passed away on July 23, 2021 at the age of 44.
