(HANMI) — Slots are filling up fast for the 23rd Annual HANMI Charity Classic Golf Tournament at LaoLao Bay Golf & Resort with 120 players registered to date.

Originally set for July 26, the event has been rescheduled to Aug. 9 due to inclement weather.

The tournament is open to the first 144 paid registrants and follows a blackjack double Peoria format.  A portion of this year’s proceeds will benefit the Commonwealth Cancer Association, and sponsors and players have been showing up since planning started in April to demonstrate their strong support for the cause.

“We are really overwhelmed by the show of support this year, despite the tough economic times we are all facing,” said tournament chairman William Retardo.  “Sponsors have really been giving from their hearts for this year’s cause — CCA.  Players are also making a strong showing.  It’s so encouraging to see everyone come together once again to make this a great tournament.  We are praying for clear skies and putting the final touches on what we expect to be another awesome HANMI tournament on Saturday.  Sign up today to secure a slot!”

Registration forms are available at LaoLao Bay Golf Resort and at the official website of HANMI at www.saipanhotels.org/.

“Hats off all our incredible sponsors, our faithful players, and this year’s dynamic tournament committee under the leadership of Chair William,” said HANMI Chairman Dennis Seo.  “In the 40 years of HANMI, the annual charity golf tournament has become our signature event for delivering quality service and a great day of golf for a worthy cause.  Wishing everyone a great day on Saturday and best of luck on those hole-in-ones!”

This year’s hole-in-one prizes include a 2026 Kia Sportage from Joeten Motors on Hole #13, a 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz SE from Triple J Motors on Hole #3, a 2025  Toyota Tacoma 4×4 TRD from AK Toyota on Hole # 17, $5,000 cash from Pacifica Insurance on Hole #7, and $5,000 cash from Marpac also on Hole #7.  Deluxe Sponsors are Marianas Visitors Authority and Island Training Solutions.  Superior Sponsors are Bridge Capital LLC, DOCOMO Pacific, Saipan Winners Co., and Wushin Corporation.  VIP Sponsor is AON/AB Risk Solutions, Chung Nam Corp., First Alarm Co., First Hawaiian Bank, GenPro International, and IP&E Shell Marianas.  Contributing HANMI member hotels are Aqua Resort Club, Century Hotel, Coral Ocean Resort, Grandvrio Resort Saipan, Crowne Plaza Resort Saipan, Kensington Hotel Saipan, LaoLao Bay Golf & Resort, Pacific Islands Club Saipan, Saipan World Resort, and Surfrider Resort Hotel.

The tournament fee includes an awards banquet at LaoLao Bay Golf & Resort immediately following the tournament, where a raffle will include a roundtrip ticket for Saipan-Incheon on Jeju Air.  Optional play for the tournament is $30. The fee increases to $130 after the early bird deadline on July 11, 2025.  Registration fee for non-CNMI residents is $180 (also includes green fee and awards banquet).  Optional play will include Accurate Drive (Hole #1), Aggressive Drive (#12) and four chances for Nearest to the Pin (Holes #3, #7, #13, and #17). Showtime is 6 a.m., and the tournament will have a shotgun start at 7 a.m.
