In an interview on Friday, MHS principal Jonathan Aguon said: “I would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation for McDonald’s on Saipan for offering these free meals to  our teachers and school staff.”

He said educators and other school personnel were very grateful to McDonald’s. “It was very nice and kind of McDonald’s to recognize the hard work that teachers have been putting in for  students,” Aguon said, adding that “it has really been tough during these pandemic times.”

“I am very proud of our educators throughout the Marianas,” he said. “They have been very flexible and are willing to adapt to these ever-changing circumstances. So it takes a lot to be an educator especially in these times but they really stood their ground and are working hard for our students,” Aguon said.

He noted that the CNMI economy is still “on the road to recovery,  so any gesture like McDonald’s free ‘Thank You Meal’ truly helps  teachers and school staff. It just shows McDonald’s appreciation for the community and for what the teachers are doing: taking care and cultivating the next generation of workers and leaders of our community.”
