‘ISLA: Isla’n Esperånsa’ to make its online premiere

THE team behind the feature film “ISLA: Isla’n Esperånsa” announced that the film will make its online premiere this Saturday, July 26, at 6 p.m. ChST. The film will be available for free on YouTube at the following link: https://youtu.be/_XsiTGnpvwg

The film follows a high school math genius who enters the island’s criminal underworld of high-stakes gambling in order to earn enough money to take him and his family to the states. Over the past year, the film has been shown at sold-out screenings and was featured in several film festivals around the world, including the Tokyo Lift-Off Film Festival. The film is the first of three anthology films that will explore themes of faith, hope, and love in the Marianas.

“ISLA: Isla’n Esperånsa” was written, edited, and directed by Galvin Deleon Guerrero and stars John San Nicolas in the lead role of Matt. Other cast members include Maisie B. Tenorio, Erik Atalig, John Blanco, Victoria Camacho Deleon Guerrero, Friella Dela Santa, LJ Castro, and Rob Travilla.

Crew members featured Renedel Buno as the director of photography, Malina Rose B. Tenorio as the production designer, and Yuri Sasamoto as the script supervisor. Jedric Villar wrote an original musical score for the film.

The film was produced by Galvin Deleon Guerrero, Frankie Eliptico, John Blanco, John Saludez, Rob Travilla, and Keiko Yamagata.
