KIO remains unbeaten in the 2021 Islandwide Men’s Bud Light Basketball League after earning their ninth consecutive win by thumping KO’BEE’s 78-40 Monday on Tinian.
At first, KO’BEE’s played well with Haropol leading the team by scoring four points. KO’BEE’s then upped the ante in the second canto with long-range attacks unleashed by Slim who converted two triples while team-mates Miklo and Chino added a bucket each.
But in the third quarter, Kio started to pull away as Robert Reyes sizzled with 10 points while team-mate Paka Sablan delivered two three-pointers to give Kio the lead, 57-32.
KO’BEE’s failed to rekindle the flame and could only score eight points in the final quarter while Kio maintained their dominance with Reyes and Sablan at the frontline and team-mates Dustin Sablan and Louise Kiyoshi joining the fun en route to a blowout victory, 78-40.
Rampage vs CNMI
In the second game of the day, Rampage defeated CNMI 82-72.
It was a high-scoring first quarter with CNMI in control as Anthony Borja, Louise Maligson, Mario Manansala and Bradley Lizama showcased their range with a bucket each from behind the three-point line.
However, in the second quarter, Rampage suddenly found the fuel to cook up a rally. Jayron Epity took over the spotlight to drain 12 points and give his team the lead 39-33.
He never stopped producing points, contributing 12 more buckets to seal the win for his team.
