Kio stuns KO’BEE’s for 9th consecutive win in Tinian basketball

KIO remains unbeaten in the 2021 Islandwide Men’s Bud Light Basketball League after earning their ninth consecutive win by thumping KO’BEE’s 78-40  Monday on Tinian.

At first, KO’BEE’s played well with Haropol leading the team by  scoring four points. KO’BEE’s then upped the ante in the second canto with long-range attacks unleashed by Slim who converted two triples while team-mates Miklo and Chino added a bucket each.

But in the third quarter, Kio started to pull away as Robert Reyes sizzled with 10 points while team-mate Paka Sablan delivered two three-pointers to give Kio the lead, 57-32.

KO’BEE’s failed to rekindle the flame and could only score eight points in the final quarter while Kio maintained their dominance with Reyes and Sablan at the frontline and team-mates Dustin Sablan and Louise Kiyoshi joining the fun en route to a blowout victory, 78-40.

Rampage vs CNMI

In the second game of the day, Rampage defeated CNMI 82-72.

It was a high-scoring first quarter with CNMI in control as Anthony Borja, Louise Maligson, Mario Manansala and Bradley Lizama showcased their range with a bucket each from behind the three-point line.

However, in the second quarter, Rampage suddenly found the fuel to cook up a rally. Jayron Epity took over the spotlight to drain 12 points and give his team the lead 39-33.
