THE Padres displayed dominance on Wednesday night, putting on a clinic against Blue Shark in a 13-2 rout to earn their third win of the 2025 Saipan Baseball League season at the Francisco “Tan Ko” Palacios Baseball Field.
After quickly retiring Blue Shark in the top of the opening inning, the Padres went to work, capitalizing on both their hits and their opponent’s errors.
Their first run came from MJ Aldan — the second at-bat — who connected on a double turned RBI, bringing Jonah Flores home to take the early lead. Blue Shark pitcher Jarrod Muna struggled to find the strike zone, hitting four batters. This only benefited the Padres, as the bases continued to load with each misstep.
The floodgates opened, allowing two runs to score on walks, while Jordan Suel, Jonah Flores, Henry Aguon, and Tyrone Omar each earned an RBI, totaling 10 runs before Blue Shark could finally stop the bleeding.
Although Blue Shark remained scoreless, a pitching change helped stabilize their defense, and they held the Padres to a scoreless second inning.
However, in the third inning, the Padres resumed their dominance with a three-run rally led by Kyle Hocog’s two-RBI single, stretching the lead to 13-0.
Heading into the fifth inning, Blue Shark faced the threat of an early defeat due to the 10-run rule. With their backs against the wall, they finally broke the silence with RBIs from Jason Reyes and JR Brel, adding two runs to the board.
But any hope of a comeback was quickly dashed. The Padres closed the game with a strikeout and a 1-3 groundout play, securing the final three outs and ending the game after just four complete innings, 13-2.
