PSS welcomes close to 250 new employees

(PSS) — The Public School System held an orientation for its close to 250 new employees on Sept. 3 at Aqua Resort Club.

PSS employees serve 10,000 Early Head Start, Head Start, Early Intervention, Special Education, kindergarten, elementary, middle and high school students at 20 public schools on Saipan, Tinian and Rota.

Welcoming the new employees were Commissioner of Education Dr. Alfred B. Ada, Associate Commissioner for Administrative Services Eric Magofna, Board of Education Chairman Andrew L. Orsini, Vice Chairman Herman Atalig, Secretary/Treasurer Maisie B. Tenorio and member Antonio Borja.

PSS Human Resources Office Director Lucretia Deleon Guerrero talked about the school district’s work ethics and communications protocols. She said PSS remains a drug-free workplace and will continue to maintain high  standards while maintaining overall work safety.
