Kanoa, TanHoldings pummel foes in U15 girls soccer

KANOA and TanHoldings football clubs remain dominant in the U15 Girls Division of the Youth League Fall tournament as they convincingly defeated their opponents Saturday  at the NMI Soccer Training Center.

Kanoa FC bagged their third win of the season after  powering past MP United Football Club, 8-2.

Kanoa had a quick start and drew first blood after just two minutes of play thanks to Kaleen Leemarvin who scored a goal.

However, MPU quickly  redeemed themselves with a goal of their own at the 9th minute mark that was delivered by Audrey Castro who followed through seven minutes later to give MPU the lead, 2-1.

Fortunately for Kanoa, their persistency paid off as Keziah Manabat broke through to find the back of the net and level the score, 2-2.

Kanoa continued to apply pressure, eventually weakening MPU’s line of defense. This allowed Leemarvin to score again and give Kanoa the lead 3-2.

In the second half, Kanoa exploded with five unanswered goals.

Keziah Manabat ignited the run at the 26th minute mark while her sister Isabel Manabat contributed another goal three minutes later.

MPU tried to stop the bleeding but Kanoa’s Sophia Quintos took over the spotlight with three consecutive goals for the hat-trick and an 8-2 victory for her team.

TanHoldings vs Paire

TanHoldings Football Club, for their part, trounced Paire Football Club 8-1.

THFC’s relentless efforts gave them the early advantage as Rizza Relucio heated up with two straight makes at the 3rd and 5th minute marks for a 2-0 spread.

Paire answered back with Teneasha Diaz sinking a goal at the 18th minute mark, but it turned out to be their only goal in the entire game.

As for THFC, they squeezed in four more goals as Tamia Hix and Kaye Costales joined the fray with a goal each while Julie Chavez added two more to give their team a comfortable lead, 6-1.

The action slowed down during the second half until THFC scored two more goals courtesy of Relucio, to secure an 8-1 win.

The final game of the day was won by Southern United Football Club which crushed Shirley’s Football Club 15-0.

Southern United’s Pia Newakl led the run with nine goals followed by Summer Manahane with five.
