CHACHA Oceanview Middle School principal Martha Kintol on Thursday received the 2021 Most Supportive Employer Freedom Award from Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Guam-CNMI Committee.
ESGR’s highest recognition is given to employers for their outstanding support of employees serving in the National Guard and Reserve.
Every year, employees serving in the National Guard and Reserve are given the opportunity to nominate their employer for the award.
ESGR Guam-CNMI area chair Rita A. Sablan, Ed.D., and employer outreach coordinator Rose Igitol went to the Chacha campus in Kagman to personally hand the award to Kintol who was nominated by the school’s librarian, Army Reserve Spc. Mollie Atinison.
Kintol said, “It’s an honor for the school to be recognized.”
She said Chacha wants to make sure that it supports servicemembers employed by the school.
Kintol said she has seen Atininson “after the typhoon, helping the community, clearing roads and helping clean homes.”
It’s more than just what she does in school and for the children, “but it is also the things she does in the community that make the lives of everyone around us a little more comfortable,” Kintol said.
She said Atininson and the other servicemembers in the community “do things for families, for their employers, for their island and nation — and for that I truly pray for the best for all of them.”
