EUCON International University is proud to announce that Ms. Yvette R. Sablan has been selected as the fourth indigenous recipient of the EUCON indigenous scholarship. A mother of four and grandmother of seven, Sablan brings a wealth of public service experience and a deep passion for community development. She will pursue a Master of Business Administration degree with the goal of furthering economic and social progress in the CNMI.
Sablan previously served for seven years as special assistant to former Gov. Ralph DLG Torres, during which she founded the Substance Abuse, Addiction, and Rehabilitation Program and established the CNMI’s first culturally responsive residential recovery center — the Hinemo O’hala Para Enteramenti (H.O.P.E.) Recovery Center — for individuals struggling with substance use and problem gambling.
“I don’t feel more entitled than others to receive this scholarship, but I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity,” Sablan shared. “I am committed to learning, growing, and using what I gain to give back to our community, especially to our families, youth, and underserved populations.” Through the MBA program, she aims to combine her background in social services with business management, creating sustainable solutions, driving investment, and leading community-centered projects.
