BLACK 8 Crooked Arrow continues to slowly climb the ranks in the Thursday division of the 2025 SBA Budweiser Open 8-Ball League after clinching a 7–6 win over Black 8 SCS Team on Thursday last week, improving their win-loss record to 28–37.
Crooked Arrow started off aggressively, as Patrick “Stallion” Cepeda, Rey Hermogenes, and Joe Deleon Guerrero claimed three of the four games in the opening Singles 8-Ball set — Cepeda and Hermogenes each recorded a “Run the Rack” along the way.
Despite the rough start, SCS Team quickly bounced back with solid teamwork, as the pairs of Rowel “Cobra” Mariano and Albert Pangilinan, along with Joseph De Los Santos and Bryan Fabre, secured a two-game sweep in the first Partners 8-Ball set to force the first deadlock of the night, 3–3.
The back-and-forth battle continued, with multiple lead exchanges across the next two sets, but neither side could pull ahead, bringing the score to 6–6.
In the deciding third and final Partners 8-Ball match, the pairing of Hermogenes and Ken Chen proved superior to Pangilinan and Lisa Guinto of SCS Team, securing the final win needed to end the night triumphant, 7–6.
