(SCC) — The Saipan Chamber of Commerce earlier this month hosted representatives from the United States Pacific Air Forces or PACAF to discuss business opportunities for Chamber members and strengthen partnerships supporting ongoing military projects in the Northern Mariana Islands.
Representing PACAF were Sgt. McCurry, Sgt. Perez, and Sgt. Tobin, who shared procurement needs and outlined potential opportunities for local businesses to supply materials and services critical to operations and projects on Tinian and Saipan.
The Commonwealth Bureau of Military Affairs reached out to the Chamber to assist in connecting essential businesses with the PACAF procurement team.
In attendance were representatives from several Chamber member companies, including: Triple J Enterprises Saipan, J.C. Tenorio Enterprises, Inc., Vega LLC, Marianas Water Works, and Transcends, LLC. Additionally, United Equipment Rental participated as a future Chamber member.
To further support the PACAF’s logistical and supply chain needs, the Chamber also provided contacts and referrals to other SCC members specializing in shipping, logistics, and freight forwarding, including: Ambyth Shipping Micronesia, Inc., CTSI Logistics, Triple B Forwarders, and Matson Navigation.
The meeting was highly productive, resulting in direct connections between PACAF procurement representatives and CNMI businesses prepared to help meet the needs of current and upcoming projects.
“The Chamber is proud to facilitate meaningful engagement between our business community and the U.S. Pacific Air Forces,” said Joe Guerrero, president of the Saipan Chamber of Commerce. “These discussions not only open the door for local companies to participate in federally funded projects, but also help ensure that economic growth is inclusive, sustainable, and benefits the people of the Northern Mariana Islands.”
